The leaders of Can Tho city working with representative of the Global Affairs Canada

On the morning of October 2, Mr. Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee and leader representatives of departments, agencies and enterprises operating in Can Tho city welcomed and worked with Mr. Adler Aristidle, representative of the Global Affairs Canada.
Mr. Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee welcomed and worked with the representative of the Global Affairs Canada.

In this visit, representative of the Global Affairs Canada desires to learn about the socio- economic status and development orientation of Can Tho city in the coming time. Of which, he pays attention to the urban development, trade promotion and sustainable economic development in the locality, especially the program, namely “Urban Partnership Innovating in Local Economic Development” implemented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) in cooperation with the Association of Cities of Vietnam. Mr. Adler Aristidle wishes the cooperation program will promote trading and open new opportunities for development in Can Tho city in the future.

Mr. Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, said that Can Tho city is gradually developing and becoming a dynamic center of the Mekong Delta with a lot of potential in the field of agriculture. However, the city is facing big challenges with climate changes, so the city is looking forward to strengthening the partnership with Canadian cities to exchange and share experiences in management as well as to find suitable solutions to promote the urban economy developing sustainably.
