The contest gathered the participation of 317 candidates from Primary, Secondary and High Schools in Can Tho City with the content including two parts, knowledge and skills of informatics and creative software.
According to the organizers, the number of candidates from Primary Schools increased in comparison with that of last year, the creative software contest was in good quality and related to solving specific problems of studying and life. In addition, the participated units have maintained the competition in districts to select the team and train them carefully for upper levels.
At the end of the contest, the organizers offered 47 prizes to the candidates having excellent results. In the knowledge and skills of informatics contest, Pham Gia Thinh (Hung Phu 1 Primary School in Cai Rang District) won the first prize of the primary grader, Tran Quang Thang ( Trung Thanh Secondary School in Co Do District) won the first prize of the secondary grader, Le Nhu Ngoc (Ly Tu Trong Gifted High School in Binh Thuy District) won the first prize of the high school grader. In the creative software contest, nobody won the first prize, the software “Thalassemia Hemolytic Disease Management Program by VITHANET” of students in Ly Tu Trong Gifted High School won the second prize, the software “Learning Physics Grade 6” of Tran Vy Hao in Dong Thuan Secondary School won the second prize. Besides, the Software Engineering Center of Can Tho University offered scholarships for the first, second and third prizes to high school students in the contest.
The contest aims to promote the movements of learning, creativity and application of informatics in the youth of the city and select the team and train them to attend the 23rd National Young Informatics Contest 2017.
