Mr. Tran Quoc Trung expressed his pleasure to welcome the Ambassador, at the same time informed her about the social economic strengths of Can Tho city. Currently, the export turnover of goods to Canada of Can Tho city has reached US$24 million with main products as rice, seafood, clothing and so on. Because Can Tho city has not had many investors coming from Canada, Mr. Tran Quoc Trung hoped that the Ambassador would be the bridge supporting the city in calling for enterprises to invest in many fields, such as hi-tech agriculture, infrastructure, education and so on. By these ways, the cooperation between Canada and Can Tho city would be more developing.
Ms. Ping Kitnikone, the Ambassador of Canada to Viet Nam expressed her thanks for the warm welcome of Can Tho City’s leaders. In the first visit to Can Tho, the Ambassador highly appreciated the central position of Can Tho city in the Mekong Delta. She emphasized that the bilateral relations between Canada and Viet Nam have been established and developed continuously over the years. She also confirmed that Canada and Can Tho city have had many opportunities to expand the cooperation in many aspects. the Ambassador hoped that the diplomatic relations between the two sides would be continuously promoted and developed in the coming time.
