With the theme “Promoting the OSH training to prevent occupational accidents and diseases”, the action month will take place from May 1st to May 30th, 2017. This aims to promote the OSH training at producing and trading units, improve the working conditions, take care of employees’ health, actively prevent and reduce the environmental pollution in the working places, limit occupational accidents and diseases. It also attracts the attention and wide response of the Party Committee, authorities, unions, associations, enterprises, producing and trading units, employees and the whole people. In addition, this helps to raise awareness and obey the OSH law, effectively enforce OSH law and guiding documents.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Tam, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, Head of the Organization Board of the action month for OSH, requested the media agencies, relevant departments and unions to strengthen propagandizing and educating the laws on labor creating new changes in thought and obeying the regulations on OSH, Promoting the OSH training in producing and trading units, improve the working conditions, take care of employees’ health, actively prevent and reduce the environmental pollution, limit occupational accidents and diseases. Also, the enterprises must strengthen the propaganda and ensure the OSH, make the regulations and work safety procedures, improve the working conditions, train employees in the OSH . In addition, the functional departments, the Management Boards of industrial and export processing zones should launch the movements to emulate, sign contracts to ensure OSH in the workshops, groups and teams, organize the contests to improve the working conditions, reduce occupational accidents and diseases, commend and reward the groups, individuals having achievements in OSH activities.
