The Aeon Mall Can Tho Commercial Center project is invested in by Hoa Lam Can Tho Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (a member of Hoa Lam Group) and was approved by the Can Tho City People's Committee under Decision No. 2579/QD-UBND dated November 15, 2024. The project covers an area of approximately 8.6 hectares, with a total investment capital of about VND 5,400 billion. Its main objectives include investing in, constructing, managing, operating, and developing an integrated commercial center, offering related services, entertainment activities, and retail services supporting tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, spoke at the ceremony.

“This project is expected to become a large-scale, modern hub for shopping, entertainment, and services in the Mekong Delta region. It will contribute to the transformation of the urban landscape, stimulate local economic development, create numerous job opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for residents of the city and neighboring areas," Mr. Duong Tan Hien affirmed.

Leaders of the Can Tho City People's Committee pledged to consistently accompany, support, and create favorable conditions within the legal framework to ensure the project's timely implementation with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

According to the Hoa Lam Can Tho Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, Aeon Mall Can Tho will become the largest commercial center in the Mekong Delta upon its completion, with a scale nine times larger than the region's current largest shopping mall. In addition to serving as a retail and entertainment destination, Aeon Mall Can Tho is expected to connect Vietnamese agricultural products, especially those unique to the Mekong Delta, with domestic and international consumers. The project is also anticipated to create thousands of local jobs, improve living standards, and promote regional human resource development. It is expected to be one of the key drivers of socio-economic development in Can Tho City in the near future.
