A year-end trend report by the search engine Google revealed that Vietnamese people showed their biggest interest in outbound travel destinations in the context of soaring airfares on domestic routes. Taiwan dominated the list, followed by Thailand and Europe. Bali and Singapore ranked sixth and seventh on the list.

​The top five most searched destinations by Vietnamese travelers last year include the mountainous province of Ha Giang; Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta; Phu Quoc Island in the southern province of Kien Giang; Con Phung Island on the Tien River in the southern province of Ben Tre; and the highland city of Buon Ma Thuot.

Can Tho City has a beautiful natural landscape with fruit-laden gardens, charming rivers, unique cuisine, and many famous historical and cultural buildings. In the first 9 months of 2023, the total number of tourists to Can Tho City reached more than 5 million. The Southern Folk Cake Festival alone has attracted nearly 1 million visitors to Can Tho.

Google has collected search results on the Google Search engine from January 1 to November 27, 2023. Google has become a search engine widely used by Vietnamese people to search for information and widen knowledge in all areas of life.

At the end of each year, Google publishes its "Google Year In Search" list, based on the billions of searches conducted that year. The tool provides data on search trends of tool users, past or present, searching regionally or globally. It does not identify the identity of the search engine user.
