The collaboration between Vietnam and Australia in education has always been a highlight with many significant achievements. Australia is one of the top destinations for Vietnamese students, including those from Can Tho City, who wish to study abroad. Can Tho, one of the five centrally-governed cities of Vietnam, is located in the central position of the key economic region of the Mekong Delta. In the context of deep integration into the global economy, the city's leadership recognizes that education and training are crucial keys to developing high-quality human resources to serve the development cause. During the meeting, the delegation heard from Mr. Oliver Harap, Senior Director of Market Development and Global Education Network at Study Melbourne Hub, as well as representatives from various schools, who introduced the education system in Victoria, Australia, and the support policies for attracting and assisting students and fostering an enriched educational environment.

He expressed his desire to learn more about Victoria’s education system and to explore high-priority fields, industries, and training sectors with potential for cooperation between Can Tho City and Victoria. Mr. Pham Van Hieu emphasized that Can Tho City always focuses on seeking international cooperation opportunities in the field of education and training to enhance the quality of human resources and develop the teaching staff and educational management. The city is also committed to creating favorable conditions for foreign educational institutions and other entities to collaborate with local institutions. Can Tho City hopes that the Study Melbourne Hub organization will be interested in coordinating to implement exchange programs, exchange educational management officials, teachers, and students from Can Tho with localities and educational institutions in Melbourne. Additionally, introduce educational institutions interested in expanding international cooperation to develop joint university programs, postgraduate programs, and academic exchanges with institutions in Can Tho. Support Can Tho in organizing short- and long-term training courses for educational management officials and high school teachers in the city, focusing on educational management, teaching methods, and English proficiency for students and teachers. Can Tho also looks forward to welcoming more volunteers from Melbourne to participate in meaningful activities, such as organizing English training classes for students, city officials, and civil servants.
