
Attending the workshop were leaders of the Department of Information Security - Ministry of Information and Communications; the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security, leaders of Can Tho city and organizations, units, experts in industry, leaders of the Department of Information and Communications of provinces and cities sharing practical experiences, introducing proposed technology solutions, measures to protect information security in digital transformation.
According to the report of the Center for Information Technology and Cyber Security Monitoring (Government Cipher Committee), in the first quarter of 2024, the risk of cyberattacks targeting key information technology networks increased by more than (18%) compared to the same period in 2023; currently, many key information technology systems in Party and State agencies have become targets of hackers, and cyberattack campaigns have increased in both intensity and danger. For organizations and businesses in the first months of 2024, information systems have been seriously affected by cyberattacks; and currently, the situation of people being scammed online is very complicated... Therefore, the Workshop was organized to raise awareness and share experiences in protecting information safety and security in the context of strong digital transformation and this is one of the series of events organized by Can Tho city in response to the National Digital Transformation Day on October 10th.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution taking place strongly, digital transformation is an inevitable trend in today's era, digital transformation not only helps increase productivity, reduce costs but also opens up new development spaces, creating new values in addition to existing traditional values. Digital transformation is a breakthrough opportunity for the localities, in which Can Tho city has recently focused on many solutions and drastically implemented digital transformation and achieved certain results, basically serving the direction and management of all levels, especially serving people and businesses. However, along with that development, risks regarding security and cybersecurity pose challenges that must be faced.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, regarding policies, in the past time, the Prime Minister has issued guiding documents and Directives related to strengthening information security, and the Ministry of Information and Communications has issued documents to urge and guide the implementation. Therefore, Can Tho City has focused on implementing tasks and solutions drastically, especially the issue of ensuring network safety and security in accordance with Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6th, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Based on the above, it can be seen that information security is becoming more urgent than ever, and ensuring information security in the context of digital transformation is one of the top priority tasks. To ensure a successful and sustainable digital transformation, safeguarding cybersecurity plays a crucial role and is an integral, inseparable part of the digital transformation process.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his hope that through the Workshop, delegates would actively participate in sharing and exchanging, thereby drawing useful lessons and solutions to improve the capacity to ensure safety and cybersecurity, contributing to building a safe and sustainable digital environment, serving the local socio-economic development goals.
At the Workshop, delegates focused on discussing topics on implementing measures to ensure information security in digital transformation; the current status of information security, cyberattacks in the digital transformation process; demonstration of Ransomware attack methods and preventive and remedial measures; current situation and recommendations on online fraud in cyberspace; information security solutions; proposed technological solutions and practical experiences to ensure information security; exchange, discuss and share experiences of management agencies, units, localities and experts in the industry.
