
During the meeting, Mr. Kim Jin Young, Vice Chairman of KEAV, emphasized the importance of cooperation between Korean and Vietnamese businesses. He mentioned that KEAV is currently collaborating with major Korean conglomerates in the energy sector, such as Hanhwa Group, SK, and Samsung... Particularly, many Korean companies have been operating effectively in Can Tho City, including Tae Kwang Co., Ltd. Mr. Kim also expressed the desire for Can Tho City to establish an official channel to facilitate Korean companies in understanding cooperation opportunities, accessing investment support policies, especially in the field of renewable energy development. According to Mr. Kim, this sector has great potential and aligns with current global development trends.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu expressed strong appreciation for KEAV's proposal. The Secretary of the City Party Committee shared that Can Tho City is focusing on developing clean and sustainable energy, with the planning and construction of the O Mon Thermal Power Center, including O Mon I, II, III, and IV gas power plants. In addition, the city is actively developing industrial park infrastructure, with a focus on high-tech industries, aiming for green growth and sustainable development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu affirmed that KEAV's proposal for cooperation in the field of renewable energy, especially solar energy, is completely in line with the city's development needs and direction. Can Tho City is committed to creating favorable conditions for KEAV to act as a bridge connecting Korean investors to renewable energy projects in the locality.
Furthermore, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee also directed relevant departments of the city to research, connect, and support KEAV's partners as well as Korean businesses interested in developing renewable energy projects and green transformations. This will not only help Can Tho realize its sustainable development goals but also contribute to promoting economic cooperation and strengthening strategic relations between Vietnam and Korea in the energy sector.
