At the meeting, Mr. Vo Thanh Thong highly appreciated Ms. Hiroko Katayama's visit after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Japanese language training programme between Okayama Institute of Languages (OIL - Academy) and Can Tho University of Technology (CTUT) on March 13th. On the basis of this, Mr. Thong hoped that the relationship between two units will be deeper, more sustainable and practical in the future. Moreover, this signing is very important since it contributes to improving the human resources quality of Can Tho city in preparation for cooperation with Japanese investors and tourists in the future. In addition, learning Japanese will give Mekong Delta labor force major opportunities to participate in Japanese job market. This will thereby contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Japan.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Hiroko Katayama said that Can Tho city as an economic hub of the Mekong Delta will develop even more. She also thanked the city leaders for always supporting Okayama Institute of Languages to make the signing fast and effective. Ms. Hiroko Katayama hoped that there will be more and more Vietnamese students willing to study Japanese and be able to find suitable jobs in Japan where labor shortage is a major issue. After today’s visit, Okayama Institute of Languages will have a working session with Can Tho University of Technology to discuss the implementation of the signed Memorandum of Understanding more thoroughly. Ms. Hiroko Katayama said that she will try her best to work effectively and carefully in order to not disappoint Can Tho city leaders and Okayama Institute of Languages.
